Malene Birger’s homes and creative spaces reflect her belief that beauty is created through layers – a dialogue between history and the present, memory and imagination, simplicityand richness.

Inspired by her travels and the places she has lived, Birger brings together influences from around the world: from ancient Middle Eastern craftsmanship and traditional techniques to the bold graphic language of 1970s Italian design. Her interiors are built on contrasts – refined and raw, decorative and minimal, historic and contemporary.

She combines carefully selected furniture, handcrafted objects, art, and architectural elements to create spaces that feel personal, timeless, and alive. Every piece has a presence and a story, creating a visual narrative shaped by curiosity, intuition, and a lifelong passion for collecting.

The same philosophy continues through her artistic practice. Created in her Mallorca studios and gallery, her paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and works on paper explore her signature language of monochrome tones, graphic forms, and expressive compositions.

Through layering – of objects, materials, cultures, and memories – Birger creates a
universe where art, design, and life exist in constant dialogue.
